Hmmm, it should work…
It turned out to be just one all-nighter after all.
This morning I finished modifying the layout of my Friendster profile for, I hope, the last time. This is in the aftermath of Friendster’s most annoying code change to date, which gave me no choice but to include their butt-ugly advertisments into my profile layout. It was a hard pill to swallow, but after years in this business I have gotten used to conforming to pre-existing design elements, aesthetically pleasing or not.
Below is the "before and after" of my profile work. The new one may not be as nice as my first one, but I am sure it manages to integrate those advertisments seamlessly - I hope.
The one on top was taken 10 days ago, and the one at the bottom is this morning.
BEFORE (10/05/2005)
AFTER (10/14/2005)
Hmmmm… well, I tried my best ;) I think the thing that pisses me off the most in the layout is that white sponsor box on the upper right corner of the left column. Since there was no way to customize its colors, it was an eyesore in the middle of my dark-background layout. The Friendster people might be good at programming, but their design sense totally sucks. And they added yet ANOTHER advertisment, this time at the very bottom of the profile page. And no, you can’t customize it either. Suckage…
So anyway, not having to worry about those "F’ers" doing their regular code changes would allow me to concentrate on more important things - like work, for instance …
Oh yeah, tomorrow is the day they’ll be announcing the winners of the Custom Profile contest. I’m eager to see who the winners will be… If you’re reading this before October 15 and you think I should win it instead, by all means visit my profile and click on the bookmark link for chrissakes! I’ll give a power handshake to the guys, and a passionate smooch for the girls.
Okay, maybe that ruined my chances of girls bookmarking me… well, do it anyway!
