Movies, Games & DVDs

Watched two movies at the theaters today - Minority Report and Men in Black II - back to back. Minority Report was pretty good - the story was mind-boggling, and the special effects are slick. Men in Black II was hilarious during the first half, but seemed to have lost some steam in the denouement.

When I came back home, the computer gave me a big fat scare when it seemed to refuse to go into Windows 2000. After more than eight minutes of waiting (seemed like an eternity, and I was praying that the RAID-striped hard drives were working properly), it finally went into Win2K and I heaved a sigh of relief. Further inspection revealed that the culprit was the detached CAT-5 network cable from my network card at the back… Whew…

I’m currently playing Warcraft III (already midway into the Orc campaign). The game is sweet, the single player story is topnotch, and it’s a real keeper. I have also recently finished the X-Files DVDs (that is, I watched everything from Season 1-5, plus the movie). I now have 4 rented DVDs from Netflix in front of me, waiting to be watched in between my playing Warcraft III. They’re Ocean’s Eleven, Behind Enemy Lines, Spy Game and From Hell. I also have a couple of tasks pending for OTS and this site.

Who would have thought so much free time would be so hard to budget…
